The Swedish Vallhund is believed to have been a Viking dog. Swedish Vallhunds are quite rare and would have become extinct in the forties were it not for the efforts of Bjorn von Rosen and Karl-Gustaf Zettersten of Sweden. Vallhund means herding dog.
